According to the website of the Japan Broadcasting Association (NHK), the Japanese government intends to add the ornamental fish "koi" to the list of "key export commodities" and increase support for farmers.
According to the report, in order to achieve the original goal of increasing the export value of agricultural, forestry, aquatic products and food to 2 trillion yen in advance by 2025, the Japanese government has compiled a new strategic plan. Its content includes adding koi carp, which is popular overseas and has a high price, to the list of "key export commodities", and strengthening support for farmers and production areas. In order to focus on promoting commodity exports, the Japanese government has previously listed about 30 commodities such as beef, rice, and fruits as "key export commodities."
