King crab unloading (screenshot)
On September 24th, an Atlantic fishing vessel loaded with 200 tons of fresh Russian king crabs slowly docked at Weihai Port. This is the largest single import volume of Russian king crabs since the start of the import of edible aquatic animals at Weihai Port.
It is reported that this batch of fresh king crabs, which were caught by the professional crab fishing fleet of the Russian Antey Group in the Western Kamchatka Sea, departed from Zarubino Port and took 6 days to arrive at Weihai Port. After unloading at the port, King crabs are directly loaded onto cold chain transport vehicles and sent to various parts of the country, or after being stored in fresh temporary warehouses at Weihai International Fresh Production Base, they are then transported by air or sea and re-exported to South Korea, Japan, and Southeast Asian countries.
