According to the Russian Fisheries Monitoring Center, as of July 10, 2024, the total catch of aquatic biological resources in Russia reached 2.6 million tons (a year-on-year increase of 1.1%, 28400 tons)

Far Eastern Ocean Basin: Approximately 1.9 million tons (an increase of 2.1% year-on-year)
Northern Ocean Basin: Approximately 281,800 tons (a year-on-year increase of 6.1%)

In 2023, the trade volume of agricultural products between China and Russia increased by 33%, with a total amount exceeding 11 billion US dollars. China's purchases of grain and fish products from Russia have increased by 57% and 36% respectively.

For many years, China has been Russia's main purchaser of aquatic products, accounting for 50% of Russia's total fish product exports.
According to official statistics from Chinese customs, China imported 1.29 million tons of fish products from Russia in 2023 (a year-on-year increase of 36.1%), with a total value of 2.89 billion US dollars (a year-on-year increase of 4.88%). As of the end of May 2024, China has imported 523,000 tons of fish products, which is the same as last year's level.
The main fish products exported to China is pollock (accounting for 60% of the total), followed by herring, sardine, fish meal and crabs.
In the past two years, Russian fish products have been exported to more than 80 countries. As of 2023, the supply scale of fish products to foreign markets has increased by 200,000 tons, reaching 2.5 million tons (a year-on-year increase of 9%, compared to 2.3 million tons in 2022).
The main countries that import Russian fish products are China, South Korea, the Netherlands, Japan, Nigeria, and Germany. New customer countries include Albania, Angola, Bangladesh, Vanuatu, Guyana, Qatar, Liberia, Morocco, Niger, Palau, Panama, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, Montenegro, Chile, South Africa, etc.
