According to customs data, China imported 66,149 tons of warm water shrimp in September, a year-on-year decrease of 24%, with an import value of about 327 million yuan, a decrease of 26%.
Among them, Ecuadorian white shrimp accounted for 75% of the import volume, with a quantity of 49,956 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 12%. The average import price decreased by 2% to $4.55/kg.
India ranks second with an import volume of 9505 tons, a significant decrease of 48% year-on-year, and a 49% decrease in import value to 50 million US dollars.
The import of Indonesian shrimp has experienced a significant decline, with a year-on-year decrease of 80% to 465 tons in September and an average price increase of 39% to $7.85/kg. The import volume of Venezuelan white shrimp increased by 22% to 296 tons, while the average price decreased by 2% to $4.95/kg.
From January to September, the cumulative import volume of warm water shrimp reached 67,6318 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 11%. The import value was 3.28 billion US dollars, a year-on-year decrease of 22%, and the average price dropped by 12% to $4.85/kg.
From January to September, Ecuador's shrimp imports decreased by 7% year-on-year to 50,1261 tons, and the import value decreased by 19% year-on-year to 2.27 billion US dollars; The cumulative import volume of Indian shrimp decreased by 1% to 104268 tons; Venezuela's white shrimp imports have grown rapidly, with a year-on-year increase of 30% to 5988 tons in the first three quarters.
