The 2nd A+ Aquatic Feed Summit Forum
On December 12th, the highly anticipated 2nd A+Aquatic Feed Summit Forum was grandly opened in Shenzhen. Exploring the latest scientific research achievements, technological innovations, and market trends in the field of aquatic feed production from various aspects such as raw materials, additives, formulation technology, processing technology, equipment, and management, accelerating the formation of a new quality productivity for the high-quality development of aquatic feed.
Mr. Albert G.J. Tacon, Director of the World Aquaculture Association:
Reducing the application of fish meal and fish oil in aquatic feed by using feed additives
Aquaculture animals require over 50 essential nutrients, rather than specific feed ingredients such as fish meal or fish oil. However, the application of raw material substitution will face certain difficulties and risks. For example, all plant components may contain anti nutritional factors (ANFs) and enzyme toxins. Unless removed or inactivated, or further reduced through the use of selective breeding techniques or genetic modification, the application will have a negative impact on growth.
The mitigation strategies for enzymatic toxins include limiting the use of low-cost, poor quality, or expired grain by-product powders, using organic acids and feed additives to prevent or restrict the growth of enzymatic bacteria in finished feed, using fungal toxin adsorbents to prevent the absorption of fungal toxins, using microorganisms or dietary enzymes to biotransformation of fungal toxins in the gastrointestinal tract, and storing feed in a cool and well ventilated environment.
