On the evening of November 2nd at 9pm, two boxes of 24 kilograms of fresh caught aquatic products from Kiribati, including trumpet emperor (Lethrinus miniatus), spangled emperor (Lethrinus nebulosus), mangrove red snapper (Lutjanus argentimaculatus), etc., were imported into the China International Import Expo. Two Kiribati guests took an international flight from Hong Kong to Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport and brought them with them. They will soon be showcased at the 7th China International Import Expo.
According to Shanghai Hongqiao Airport Customs, a subsidiary of Shanghai Customs, through proactive communication with logistics carriers, the Customs has obtained the import plan arrangement for Kiribati aquatic products in advance. To this end, corresponding customs clearance guidelines have been formulated, and the supervision process for passengers carrying exhibition items has been optimized. Efforts have been made to ensure that aquatic products from Kiribati enter the CIIE venue in the freshest state possible.
On the morning of November 3rd, at the dedicated inspection venue of the National Convention and Exhibition Center (Shanghai), where the CIIE is held, 24 kilograms of Kiribati aquatic products were inspected by the Shanghai Convention and Exhibition Center Customs under the jurisdiction of Shanghai Customs and entered the exhibition setup stage.
The first batch of exhibits from the 7th CIIE that entered from Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport have successfully cleared customs.
Kiribati is an island country located in the central western Pacific Ocean, with a marine exclusive economic zone of up to 3.5 million square kilometers and abundant fishery resources. Kiribati's wild caught aquatic products successfully made their debut at the 6th China International Import Expo in 2023, thanks to the "special approval" policy introduced by the General Administration of Customs, and officially obtained export access to China in July of this year.
