Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning hosted a regular press conference on October 10.

A reporter asked: The Australian Prime Minister said that China will lift sanctions on Australian lobsters. Can China provide more details?

Mao Ning: For specific economic and trade issues, it is recommended to consult the relevant Chinese authorities. What I can tell you is that China is willing to work with Australia to continue to properly resolve issues of mutual concern through dialogue and consultation, so that China-Australia relations will become more mature and stable and better benefit the people of both countries.

After four years, Australian lobsters are finally expected to return to China. According to the Associated Press, Australian Prime Minister Albanese said on October 10 that China will resume imports of Australian lobsters by the end of this year. The report said that this move will eliminate the last major obstacle to bilateral trade between China and Australia.

Local time on the 10th, Premier Li Qiang met with Albanese during the East Asia Cooperation Leaders' Meeting in Vientiane.

Albanese announced the news after the meeting. He told the media, "I am very pleased to announce that Premier Li Qiang and I have reached an agreement on a timetable for the full resumption of lobster trade by the end of this year."

"This will undoubtedly catch up with the Spring Festival and will be welcomed by practitioners in the live lobster industry everywhere." Albanese said. He said that relations between Australia and China have improved, but added that this will not be based on harming Australia's interests.

"I am encouraged by the progress made by Australia and China in stabilizing relations between the two countries, which is in the interests of both our countries and in promoting regional peace and security." Albanese said.
