According to data from the General Administration of Customs, China's aquatic product exports have achieved double-digit growth year-on-year since the beginning of this year. After entering November, some aquatic products ushered in the peak export season. Let's go to Yantai, Shandong to see the export of pufferfish there.

The reporter saw on a foreign live fish transport ship that in rows of offshore breeding cages, each cage contained 800-1,000 pufferfish, with a total weight of 1.5 tons, which were being hoisted onto the ship through professional fishing equipment. Each pufferfish weighs about 3 kilograms. After on-site supervision by customs personnel, these fish will be exported to Japan.

The reporter saw that starting from 7 o'clock in the morning, the fishermen successively hoisted the pufferfish in each cage onto the transport ship.

Pufferfish has a rich meat taste, high protein content and rich nutritional value, and is very popular in Asian markets such as Japan and South Korea. The farmers told reporters that the breeding cycle of pufferfish is about 18 months, and the export price of pufferfish has been stable at 50 to 60 yuan per kilogram in the past two years.

Zhang Rendong, general manager of a fish farm in Yantai City, Shandong Province, said: "So far this year, we have exported 66 tons of pufferfish, and there are nearly 20 tons of orders on hand. At the same time, we have recently received orders from some foreign customers for next year, and are arranging production and breeding plans in an orderly manner. The overall export situation is relatively optimistic."

In the first 10 months of this year, Yantai Customs has inspected and released 3,193.7 tons of live aquatic animals such as pufferfish for export, an increase of 3.5% year-on-year.

Xu Xinjun, deputy director of the Yantai Customs Office in Zhifu, said: "For the export of pufferfish, our customs officers went to the sea to implement on-site supervision and release, and adopted the method of transshipment and export transportation to create an efficient and convenient customs clearance environment at the Yantai port, so that the survival rate of pufferfish after export reached more than 95%."

Weihai, Shandong: Oyster exports ushered in the peak season, with a year-on-year increase of 190%

In Weihai, Shandong Province, not far from Yantai, the local oysters ushered in the most plump season of the year. The entire oyster industry entered the peak season of production and sales, and the export volume continued to rise.

Rushan City is a famous oyster producing area in Weihai City. When the reporter followed the local oyster farmers out to sea, he saw that there were fishing boats taking turns to catch oysters. The fishermen lifted the net cages containing oysters onto the boat through machines, and the number of oysters in each net cage was about 10.

Sun Wei, manager of an oyster farming company in Weihai, Shandong Province, said: "This ship can catch about 500 cages, and the oysters are 40,000 to 50,000 kilograms. There are about two ships going back and forth a day, and one ship can pull two trips."

Sun Wei said that this year, the benefits of oyster farming are good. In their company's 50,000 mu oyster farming area, a single oyster can grow to a maximum of 700 to 800 grams. At a local food group, the reporter saw that the workers were cleaning and grading the oysters, and then letting the oysters discharge impurities in the purification pool, and finally packaging and shipping.

Zhao Wenjie, deputy general manager of a food group in Weihai, Shandong Province, said: "Since the beginning of this year, the value of oyster exports has reached 3.18 million yuan, an increase of more than 50% year-on-year. This year's orders and new customers are growing at a relatively fast rate."

Zhao Wenjie said that this year's export price per ton of oysters is around 27,000 yuan, which is basically the same as the same period last year. At present, the oyster farming area in Rushan has reached 600,000 mu, with an output of about 500,000 tons. There are more than 300 primary processing plants for fresh oysters, with an annual output of 350,000 tons of fresh oysters and an annual processing of about 20,000 tons of frozen products.

Fu Lidong, chief of the second inspection and inspection section of Weihai Customs, said: "Since the beginning of this year, we have supervised the export of 300 tons of Rushan oysters, a year-on-year increase of 190%. The products are mainly exported to Japan, Russia, the United Arab Emirates and Southeast Asia, and the export scale continues to expand."

Xinjiang: Rainbow trout export orders continue to increase, and products are exported to many countries and regions

Not only in coastal areas, in recent years, some inland areas have also greatly improved the output and quality of local aquatic products through technological innovation, and sold them overseas. Among them, Xinjiang's rainbow trout has gradually opened up the international market.

At a rainbow trout breeding base in Nileke County, Xinjiang, the reporter saw a circular breeding cage with a diameter of about 51 meters and a circumference of about 160 meters. A cage like this can produce about 120 tons of finished fish. There are 48 such cages in this base, with an annual output of about 3,000 tons. At present, the rainbow trout produced here has been exported to more than a dozen countries and regions such as Singapore, Japan, and the United Kingdom.

In recent days, this breeding base is regularly catching the required number of rainbow trout according to orders from overseas customers. The person in charge of the breeding department told reporters that the entire cycle of rainbow trout from fry to adult fish to fishing is about three years. The local breeding environment is mainly glacial meltwater, and the water temperature remains below 20℃ all year round, which is suitable for rainbow trout breeding.

In order to keep the fish meat fresh, the live fish caught must be processed quickly. In a nearby processing plant, the staff skillfully removes the heads, fillets, removes the thorns, peels and fine-tunes the rainbow trout, and then quickly freezes them through a liquid nitrogen machine. The person in charge told reporters that so far this year, this processing plant has processed nearly 2,000 tons of rainbow trout, an increase of four to five hundred tons over the same period last year.

Data shows that since the beginning of this year, Yining Customs has supervised the export of 17 batches of rainbow trout, with a total volume of 138,465 kilograms and a value of US$910,000.
