Friend of the Sea Certification
The 7th China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai
Atlantic bluefin tuna caught in the Adriatic and Mediterranean Seas is renowned for its meat quality and fat content, making it the best of the tuna.
Croatia is a pioneer in bluefin tuna farming in the Mediterranean and the only country with exclusive rights to farm wild-caught bluefin tuna fingerlings (8 to 30 kg).
Croatia began farming bluefin tuna in 1996, becoming the second country in the world after Japan to successfully cultivate bluefin tuna. Its farming practices have received worldwide recognition, including: Friend of the Sea certification and the International Flavor Institute's Excellent Taste Award.
The water temperature in Croatian waters is between 14 and 20 degrees Celsius all year round, and it is rich in nutrients. The above conditions make Croatian waters an ideal habitat for wild bluefin tuna and sardines. The gathering and migration of sardines attract wild bluefin tuna to enter Croatian waters to feed, providing Croatia with abundant wild bluefin tuna fry resources. This ecological relationship has promoted the development of Croatian bluefin tuna farming. Croatian bluefin tuna has firm meat, delicious taste, and rich in healthy ingredients such as DHA and Omega-3 fatty acids. Bluefin tuna is not only a high-quality ingredient for sushi and sashimi, but also favored by food lovers around the world for its unique flavor and nutritional value.
