The number of Irish seafood companies participating in this exhibition has doubled compared with previous years, and it is the largest number of participating companies since the epidemic was reopened. In addition to Atlantic Dawn Group, Connemara Seafoods, Errigal Bay, Glenmar Shellfish, Killybegs Seafoods, McBride Fishing, OceanJade, Rockabill, Shellfish Ireland and Sofrimar, which have participated in the exhibition many times, there are also Irish fresh & frozen fish products companies Castletownbere Fishermen’s Co-Op and Kingfisher Fresh, which made their debut.
At the exhibition, the above-mentioned companies introduced a full range of Irish seafood products to industry buyers from all over the world, including brown crabs, langoustines, white snails, blue lobsters, oysters, razor clams, white fish products, etc., which were very popular. Taking this opportunity, the Chinese market can understand the natural and sustainable environmental protection concept of Irish seafood more intuitively and concretely.
Conor O’Sullivan, Director of the Irish Food Authority’s representative office in China, expressed the great importance that Irish seafood attaches to the Chinese export market. As of August 2024, exports increased by 35.6% year-on-year to 26.51 million euros.
