Now, the one-year contract has been fulfilled as scheduled, and the first phase of the Western Fresh Port project - the salmon processing plant - has been successfully launched.
It is reported that the Western Fresh Port Project is located in Sichuan Shuangliu Economic Development Zone, with a construction area of 5600 square meters in the first phase. It has built an intelligent production line for chilled salmon, a production line for cooked salmon and a production line for meat products. It is one of the salmon processing centers with the largest processing scale and the highest processing level in China, and the daily output of salmon can be increased to 25 tons.
The trial operation of the salmon intelligent processing plant marks an important step for China Eastern Airlines' cold chain in the fields of international trade, cold chain logistics, and port processing and services. It is committed to building Chengdu into a distribution center for high-end fresh products in the western region, bringing more and higher quality global fresh products to consumers. Since 2024, China Eastern Airlines Cold Chain has leveraged the advantages of Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport's international cargo route network and designated entry supervision site platform to import over 6000 tons of frozen salmon from Chile, making Chengdu Shuangliu Airport the largest import port for Chilean frozen salmon in China.
Accelerate the construction of the second phase of the project to create a distinctive imported fresh food industry cluster
Data shows that in the first three quarters of 2024, the five designated entry supervision sites at Shuangliu Airport Port accounted for over 10000 tons of fresh goods, an increase of 100.2%. The rapid increase in the import of fresh products is not only due to the complete port functions of Chengdu Shuangliu Airport Port, but also to the precise layout and continuous cultivation of the imported fresh food industry in Shuangliu District.
Shuangliu District will continue to strengthen its cooperation with China Eastern Airlines' cold chain. On the basis of promoting the completion and operation of the first phase of the project, it will accelerate the construction of the second phase of the project, create a western fresh food port that integrates' product+processing+live streaming sales', and form a fresh food processing and manufacturing base and international distribution center that radiates across the country

It is reported that after the completion and operation of the Western Fresh Port project, it will mainly serve the local Chengdu and Yunnan Guizhou Sichuan Shaanxi regions, and rely on China Eastern Airlines' route network to achieve rapid coverage of markets in other regions across the country.
In recent years, with the strong support of Chengdu Customs, the Shuangliu Airport Port has fully implemented the "two-stage access supervision of fresh and frozen aquatic products" model, compressing the clearance time to 1.5 hours and reducing the storage cost of goods by about 2 yuan/kg. This institutional innovation has been approved by the State Council for nationwide replication and promotion. At present, Chengdu Shuangliu Airport Customs provides a "7 × 24 hour" customs clearance guarantee for all import and export goods, achieving "on-demand inspection and fast customs clearance" for import and export goods.
At present, Chengdu Shuangliu Airport Port has gathered five designated supervision sites for air transportation of fresh aquatic products, edible aquatic animals, fruits, plant seedlings, meat, and two designated port functions for drugs and biological products. It is one of the regions in central and western China with the most complete designated supervision sites and port functions for air transportation. We have achieved the normalized import of fresh goods such as frozen salmon, Boston lobster, South American white shrimp, eel, cherries, and plums.
