Industry insiders interviewed on Friday said that the price of farmed salmon in Norway fell sharply this week after several weeks of record highs because buyers retreated and supply increased.
An exporter reported that the price of large salmon fell by 32%, from NOK 125 per kilogram (12.20 euros / US $12.70) to NOK 85 per kilogram (8.30 euros / US $8.60). 

Chile President Gabriel Boric is reportedly considering a moratorium on the farmed salmon sector that would halt its expansion in the country.

The price of Norwegian farmed salmon will drop this week or next week. The price of farmed salmon in Norway will fall later due to the surge in the price of salmon in the first two weeks. At the same time, the salmon business media (SalmonBusiness) predicts that the size of Norwegian farmed salmon is 2-3 kg. The price will fall back to 98 crowns for the size and around 118 crowns for the 5-6kg size.

According to Oriental Fortune, the export price of Norwegian salmon hit NOK 135 per kilo on the evening of April 24, a record for the year. On April 25, the arrival price of salmon in Beijing and Guangzhou exceeded 200 yuan/kg, an increase of 129.88% over the same period last year.
