Guizhou Jiaqi live sturgeon exports to Japan for the first time

The annual production of Guizhou sturgeon ranks first in China, the export market continues to expand.

The export road of Guizhou sturgeon is getting wider and wider. On December 21, 2020, more than 3,000 Siberian sturgeons weighing 12,500 kilograms departed from Libo in southern Guizhou and were exported to Vietnam, marking the first fresh aquatic product export from our province. On November 18, 2022, 8 tons of sturgeon, which were inspected and supervised by Kaili Customs under Guiyang Customs, were successfully cleared through customs, achieving the first export of sturgeon from our province to Laos.

Huishui Jiaqi Aquatic Products Breeding was established on September 27, 2012. Jiaqi engages in sturgeon farming, sturgeon and sturgeon caviar export, and research and sales of sturgeon processed products.

The 2024 China Fisheries Statistical Yearbook shows that in 2023, the national sturgeon production was 149,376 tons, and Guizhou province's production was 32,538 tons, ranking first in the country. Jiaqi is the earliest enterprise in Guizhou to carry out large-scale sturgeon farming, and obtained the domestication and breeding license with the number 0001 in 1999. After years of development, Jiaqi's aquaculture water area has reached 15,000 square meters, with more than 3,000 medium and large-sized fish species over 7 years old, and an annual breeding and sales of 2 million sturgeon seedlings. After the renovation and upgrading of the breeding base this year, it can produce about 1 million kilograms of commercial sturgeon annually.

Jiaqi is actively connecting with the Hong Kong market and will expand its sales channels in Singapore and Malaysia, striving to establish the reputation of Guizhou sturgeon in the international market.
