"I look forward to making Chinese dumplings with Norwegian seafood and learning more about Chinese cuisine and traditional culture." During the CIIE, to celebrate the Beginning of Winter on November 7, Norwegian Minister of Fisheries and Marine Policy Marianne Sivertsen Næss participated in a Norwegian seafood promotion event. During the event, Minister Næss and China Food Expo Director Yunli made Norwegian seafood dumplings with Norwegian salmon, mackerel and Arctic sweet shrimp.

China is currently the second largest market for Norwegian seafood, second only to the European Union. As of September this year, Norway's seafood exports to China were worth NOK 6.6 billion, with an export volume of 126,000 tons, an increase of 16% over last year. In the 70 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Norway, the seafood industry has been one of the most prosperous industries. Since 1954, the total value of seafood exported by Norway to China has exceeded NOK 70 billion.
