Recently, the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) released a report on South South trade in marine fisheries and aquaculture. The report shows that the global fisheries and aquaculture industry has maintained a vigorous development momentum in recent years. In 2022, the trade volume of developing countries in marine fisheries, aquaculture and other fields reached 84.3 billion US dollars, an increase of 78% compared to 10 years ago.

Among them, China, Thailand, Peru, Vietnam, and Ecuador are the main developing countries exporting marine fisheries and aquaculture processed products.

Furthermore, looking at the domestic market, the potential for the pre packaged seafood market in China has exploded.

According to the Hongcan Industry Research Institute, the market size of pre-made seafood in China would reach 126 billion yuan in 2023, a year-on-year increase of 20.3%, and a compound annual growth rate of 18.1% from 2019 to 2023. With the support of both supply and demand, the size of China's pre-made seafood market is expected to exceed 150 billion yuan in 2024.

Moreover, the logic of explosive products still exists, especially the frequent emergence of fish and shrimp pre packaged dishes, with consumers typically purchasing 61.3% and 58.7% of these pre packaged dishes, respectively.

However, facing a diverse market, selecting products is undoubtedly the most headache inducing thing. Starting from three dimensions of product trends, potential single products, and potential explosive products, 2025 Shanghai Food Expo sorts out 20 super popular explosive products in the aquaculture industry and strongly recommended them to everyone.
