Chile surpassed Australia to become the second largest supplier in 2023, but this ranking was reversed in the first quarter of 2024. The total value of salmon imported by China from Chile increased by 118% year-on-year, reaching $222.66 million, and the import volume increased by 159% year-on-year, reaching 17,282 tons.
The import of Australian salmon has also increased in 2023, with a total import value of 5% year-on-year, reaching 163.48 million US dollars, and an import volume of 23% year-on-year, reaching 14152 tons.
